Description
This is a Caithness Glass paperweight produced for Xmas 1985. It depicts a Colourful Robin perching on the handle of a copper aventurine kettle, with a sprig of holly and red berries underneath. The scene, and a garland of blue canes, sit on a white “snowy” ground. Caithness produced only another two similar weights with this white background and similar lampwork – worth collecting the “set”. All are lovely Xmas scenes.
The delicate lampwork is delicate, and designed by Colin Terris. Top window and side facets. This weight is in excellent condition and etching on the base shows this to be number 437 of 1000, being a Collectors Club weight. It measures 72mm or 2 15/16ths ins.diameter. Ref: 00987
