Description
This is an attractive John Deacons made paperweight, the central white flower, edged with blue, being reminiscent of the antique Baccarat style. In this case, the lampwork flower has been placed on a cushion made of twisted spokes which are turned down round the edge of the weight and meet again in the centre of the base. To this is added a garland of canes and 6 Clichy-style roses. You will see that several different stages have been employed in making this paperweight, using the usual skill and artistry of Deacons Glass.
Made in 2009, in Crieff, Scotland, this weight is in excellent condition and measures 80mm, nearly 3 1/4 ins diameter. Ref:03198
